“Maidan” in Poltava

Полтавський Майдан, Правий Сектор

In the city of Poltava in front of the Poltava Regional State Administration for quite a long time there is a camp. Today we met with the head of the Poltava branch of NLM "the Right Sector" Chaus Mark Anatolievych.

Hello, Mark, tell me please, for how long your action has been going on?

Today is the 47th day

Tell us how it all began and whose idea was your "Maidan of Resistance"?

In general, the idea belongs to all members of the nationalist organizations of Poltava region. But the initiator, nevertheless, was the Right Sector. We had a congress of the right-wing forces, where it was offered to the “Right Sector” to organize the "Maidan of Resistance." What had led to this idea? After multiple arrests of patriots of different nationalist organizations, we realized that this is genocide of nationalists, in fact, total destruction of them. The Ukrainian Nationalists were charged with crimes they had not done. All citizens of Ukraine are well aware that the current government regime eliminates "undesirable" bright individuals who were in the forefront on the Maidan and in the area of ATO. As you know, a revolution is conceived by romantics, but villains take advantage of it. Therefore, Poltava patriots could not tolerate these authorities anymore and after the congress of the Right Forces of Poltava Region a unanimous decision was made to go out into the street.

Which nationalist organizations are involved?

The Right Sector of Poltava region has proposed this idea and “Azov”, KUN, "Autonomous Nationalists", many public organizations: "The Last Bastion", "Civic Maidan of Poltava" have supported it.

What are the basic requirements and slogans of the "Maidan of Resistance"?

1. Release patriots from prisons
2. Stop political persecution.
3. Dismiss the Government for:
* persecution of patriots;
* Not-recognition of volunteer movement;
* not investigation of crimes during Maidan;
* failure to do lustration;
* lobbying interests of oligarchic clans;
* fund opacity of the Government and its representatives in the regions;
* food and communal genocide of the Ukrainian people
* lack of economic growth due to corruption;
* not breaking up with the corruption, but heading it;
* non-transparent gas price for Ukrainian production.

You say that today is the 47th day of the action. How do the ordinary citizens of this city react to it?

The reaction varies. Some people say that they are tired of “maidans”. Some irritated ones ask whether the 2014 Maidan was even necessary ... But most people, who are seeing the impoverished nation, tariff genocide, and the difficult economic situation, say: "Well done! We rely on you!" We, in turn, are trying to encourage people by saying :" The fight is not finished! We are not looking for easy ways! It was only the first round, but the victory is ahead!". There were caring people that helped us to set up the camp, and helped with some food. Also there is a donation box. The money from it, under the public control, is being spent on the needs of the camp: tea, coffee, cigarettes, and so on.

So what is the reaction to the action of the so-called government?

The Head of the regional administration Holovko V.A. has never even came up to us, but we have been passed his statements that we are "Sharikovy and Shvondery". As for the chairman of the regional council, he once came to ask us about our demands, but behind the scenes in his office he called us "marginalized people" and when the Agrarian Party wanted to put up their tent next to ours and to hold a children's concert, Vorona P.V. told them: "If you stand along with these tents, you will have problems in the elections!" Regarding the other powers ... there was no reaction on their part. But once in a while their clerks stop by and ask in compassion: "When do you finally cast these scoundrels?"

And how do the "law enforcement" agencies treat your “Maidan of Resistance”?

The "law enforcement" agencies treat our “Maidan of Resistance” with caution... Any initiative or manifestation of actions is accompanied by the funky interest. When we were mounting the wooden headquarters of the “Maidan of Resistance”, three police patrol crews drove over and started asking what we are building here? According to them these are small architectural forms and should have a permit for construction. But we answered them that we will report only to the authorities we consider as pro-Ukrainian.

We are in our country! And, as the great Kobzar wrote: "In my own house there is my truth, and my strength, and my will…”

March, 14, the Volunteer's Day in Ukraine

We are the volunteers. We are people of idea, action, and good will. It is always difficult with us. It is hard for the authorities, officials, leaders, and commanders at all levels. Why is it so? For we have the freedom to maneuver that the executives, being bound by statute, regulations, and salary, do not have. We have faced with this so many times for the last three years of war that one cannot count.

Coordinating our combat operations and maneuvers with the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the ATO command, we always had a freedom in relation to the obsolete army rules and soviet-type bureaucracy - the battalions were built as military necessity and our possibilities dictated us but not the instructions covered with gunpowder. We were armed with what could be obtained or made by our craftsmen's hands.

We are inconvenient as the authorities can't understand how they can influence us. Despite the daily fights with the enemy at the forefront we are constantly present in the information battles. The provocations were staged against us, then our fighters were arrested or a base of one of the battalions was surrounded.

We are still inconvenient now as we have the constitutional right to be at the forefront, to get wounded and die, but in the information zone we remain as "wearenotthere". What is the phenomenon of volunteer movement in Ukraine?

The basis of the volunteer movement - from a heartfelt assistance to the front and trenches at the line - is the sacrifices. That is the daily willingness to sacrifice: work, time, money, forces, health, and life. There are no saints among us. Our characters are damaged by the battles, the manners are distorted by the constant stress, and there is an uneasy temper. If we remove all this, as the husk, then each volunteer has one thing in common - the self-sacrifice.

And it is not us who should judge its amount or size - in the end only God knows what is bigger: a million from the rich or a last hryvnia from the widow. The true sacrifice doesn't expect "neither glory nor reward" because it is the spiritual essence of the human soul. Those people, who devoted their lives to enrichment, career, and comfortable living, have a difficulty to understand us at once.

And we do not expect the understanding! We hope for only one thing - all people of Ukraine, who have felt the responsibility or call of the heart to give something to the plundered Mother, will be unified. The idea of Nation's rebirth and building the national state - united and independent - would light so much the people's hearts that this fire would burn down all group interests and personal ambitions. Then everyone would understand what it means to be a volunteer.

We will win!

A statement by Dmytro Yarosh about sentencing of Mykola Karpyuk

Almost coincided, with a difference of one day, there were two events related to the Ukrainian prisoners of war: Nadiya Savchenko returned home, and an astronomical sentence - 22.5 years - was given to the kidnapped by the Russian Security Services Mykola Karpyuk - a patriot and a nationalist, a leader of the UNA-UNSO, who was my substitute in the days when I was heading the movement "Right Sector".

While the fate of Savchenko, when she was a prisoner, was watched by the whole world, and her return was an event of nationwide scale, the abduction of Karpyuk, tortures, to which he and the other person involved in the case Stanislav Klikh, were subjected, the falsified case itself, and now meaningless sentence (because all the fellows of Mykola know that he did not fight in Chechnya) - the Ukrainian government, the international community, either do not react at all, or react to a minimum.

Rejoicing Nadia Savchenko return, we should not forget about one of those who are still in captivity. Even if we manage to return them only after the victory, then we have to make this victory come faster.

I declare that we with my fellows have done, do, and will do everything possible to bring back Mykola Karpyuk home. By means either as an attempt to influence the Ukrainian and international official structures, or as non-standard steps in the military field.

Mykola Karpyuk and all the Ukrainian prisoners of war, contained on the territory of the occupying country and on the Ukrainian territories temporarily controlled by collaborators and Russian-terrorist groups, will return home.

Victory will be ours.

Dmytro Yarosh's statement about "the special status" of the occupied territories

After the visit to Kyiv of Victoria Nuland, the United States Assistant Secretary of State, the information has appeared that was partially repudiated by Mrs. Nuland after a wave of indignation in the Ukrainian society - that the United States is expecting almost immediate implementation of amendments to the Constitution from Ukraine as to the special status of Donbas, amnesty of mercenaries and conduction of the election on the occupied territories.

First of all, no other single country is able to hold the elections on the territories occupied by an enemy. Initially, these territories should be freed.

Secondly, the Russian propaganda has received a de facto monopoly in shaping a part of our countrymen's worldview because our government was incapable for 20 years to provide the Ukrainian product of good quality in the Donbas region. During two years of war our fellow citizens have been consuming ONLY the anti-Ukrainian information. To conduct the elections under such conditions in the Donbas is same as to conclude a peace with Germany in the 40's of the last century and hold the elections there. The leading figures of the Nazi regime would certainly win in these, so called completely honest, elections under the international supervision.

The invaders, collaborators, international terrorists and simply the government criminals should lay down their arms in the first place - under the guarantees of amnesty for the low rank participants of antigovernmental formations and who are not implicated in the grave crimes. The constitutional system should be fully restored, and a lengthy procedure must be held, that is similar to the German denazification. Having received the guarantees that none of the state criminals will be in power, the elections can be held.

Thirdly, the proposed changes to the Constitution are not the compromise but rather the capitulation to the enemy, because Russia has demanded it from the very beginning.

The elections on the occupied territories and "the special status" would mean that Ukraine will receive the territories in its unity that are de facto controlled by Russia with a help of local antigovernment powers, and it will be forced to carry out the pro-Russian politics by their demands.

Our guys fought, died and received the wounds; they have returned to combat from the hospitals or have become disabled for the rest of their lives; their families carried and continue carrying the burden of war; the volunteers, who still continue to hold the front, have fought and continue fighting, but not for that.

The pressure on Ukraine from some Western countries is caused by one reason: a mediator in the negotiations always insists on concessions from that side that looks to be weaker. Maidan and two years of war have changed us, but didn't change those who didn't participate in that. In Ukraine some still see, by inertia, the object but not a subject of geopolitics. They always put the pressure on us demanding not to seek a withdrawal from the USSR or to agree with Yanukovych. We must stop submissively playing the weak one, and the pressure will gradually diminish.

This is entirely consistent with the statements of the incumbent President. We were weak before the Minsk-1 but right now our army and other structures, being associated with defence of the state, have been reorganized, strengthened and became stronger. So there is no longer any sense to support a format of talks that are harmful for the national interests.

The talks with the so-called "DPR" or "LPR”, which some countries demand from Ukraine, are the violation of the fundamental principals in the international community - there can be no negotiations with the terrorists. Moreover, when they have attacked Debaltseve right after the Minsk-2, the terrorists showed that all the agreements would be violated by them the next day.

Taken into consideration the above said, we insist on leaving the format of the Minsk talks and beginning a qualitatively new international cooperation as to the joint defense from a country-aggressor, inviting Poland, the Baltic countries, Romania and Turkey to this process.

We remember every drop of blood shed for the Ukrainian Donbas and sovereign Ukraine, and we will not allow anybody to encroach on that, which it was spilled for.

We are the statesmen. We will not surrender a single inch of our land.

We have learned to be strong. Victory will be ours.

  • Action "Give the deserved recognition to the Volunteers!" at the Kyiv regional council

    Today the National Movement "Action" held an event "Give the deserved recognition to the Volunteers!” at the Kyiv regional council.

    The event was attended by activists, volunteers of ATO, participants of the hottest military battles with the invaders of Ukraine, who after two years of warfare are still not recognized as ATO participants. Therefore, they and their families do not receive adequate support from the state, and most importantly - they do not have an official recognition as defenders of Ukraine.

    That is why a draft resolution "On the status of the war veterans-volunteer combatants" was submitted to the Kyiv Regional Council, which also will be submitted to the local councils throughout Ukraine. This document is intended to recognize the volunteers who participated in the fighting in the area ATO as fighters for the freedom and independence of Ukraine and introduce the following concepts to the Ukrainian legislation: volunteering war veterans, disabled volunteering war veterans, and volunteers involved in fighting. Accordingly, the financing costs associated with the introduction of these concepts will be at the expense of the local budgets in the manner prescribed by the Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans and warranties of their social protection".

    Today the draft resolution "On the status of the war veterans-volunteer combatants" was admitted by the relevant committee of the Kyiv regional council for consideration. According to the preliminary information, our draft resolution will be submitted to the session of the Council on June 14. So, we thank everyone who have contributed to our action and who are helping our soldiers to get the deserved title of defender of Ukraine.

  • A representative of the National Movement "Action" is running for the Parliament

    The Central Election Commission accepted a package of documents for registration of a parliamentary candidate in the midterm elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 17, 2016 from Hlahovych Mykhailo Vasylovych. The candidate is self-nominated, running from the 85th constituency (Ivano-Frankivsk region).

    Mykhailo Hlahovych can rightly be considered a candidate to become a deputy from the new generation because he is not a representative of the "old faces" and not involved in dubious political processes. Instead, from the age of 17 he worked in the field of public health. He worked his way up from nurse to surgeon, PhD, associate professor. He has about 50 scientific papers and 4 patented inventions.
