Starting from 26th of December, 2014 each separate battalion or a company is creating a subunit of the military field gendarmeirie (MFG UVC) - special subunits for maintaining discipline in the military units of UVC. MFG subunit of a separate battalion consists of 7-10 men and of 3-5 men for a separate company. MFG commander is appointed by an order of the battalion commander and is a member of the battalion hq staff; in turn, company MFG commander is appointed by an order of the company commander.

Main tasks of the MFG subunit are:

• Check adherence of the combatants and their commanders to the military discipline rules and internal order.
• Expose any offences or wrongdoings in the combat operation zone and at a home station.
• Investigation of discipline offences, searches and other related investigation activities, including detention.
• Execution of disciplinary action orders.
• Guard of the sweat-box.
