The head of Odessa branch of NLM the Right Sector about his arrest

Here is what happened with my arrest.

Let’s start with a small story that in a way influences the whole situation.

In April me being the head of Odessa branch of NLM the Right Sector, and also AvtoMaidan, Selfdefense and other patriotic organizations have confirmed an application to the Interior Ministry, Security Service and Prosecutor's Office regarding the illegal actions of Presman’s man S. Scherbich, which was supposed to become a deputy of the district council of Kominternivske. This person has very interesting biography, some parts of it I recommend you to read following the link.

As citizens that care about Ukraine we were outraged that this person goes into government instead of being responsible for what he had done under the law.

As I said before in the beginning of summer I had some information that there were planned some police repressions against patriots. It appeared that the information was correct because the documents about the search in my house and my detention were signed by the judge of Prymorsky court on June, 5th, 2015. All in one day.

On September, 8th about 13:40 the police knocked on my door and said that they came to give me a summons to the investigator. Special Forces who hid around the corner were visible through the shadow they created on the wall just outside the door of my apartment. Realizing that my door will be broken, I asked to give me a minute and went to change my clothes. They started to beat the door vigorously. I woke up my neighbor and warned him about the guests.

When I opened the door about 12 unmarked Special Forces fighters (supposedly Sokil of the Interior Ministry) and 2 unknown civilians that were, as I found out later, the representatives of the Interior Ministry. They pushed me with the shield that looked like BZT-75, twisted my hands and pressed me to the wall. They also threw my neighbor to the floor. After that they started running around and digging through the apartment. I asked who were they but they never answered. It continued for about 10-12 minutes. I couldn’t see what these strangers were doing as the only thing I could see was the wall.

Later they brought a man and a woman unknown to me but presented as witnesses. I was given a legal copy about the search and some other papers demanding that I sign them. I refused to sign anything without a lawyer, requiring him to be admitted to me, but it was vain. The search continued for about 15 minutes, and during this time my comrades were waiting for me outside the apartment knocking at the door. As a result of this "search" with a number of violations of procedural rules "police" seized my air rifle Yunker-2 (which the prosecutor called firearms), my laptop and laptops of my 2 neighbors, system block of a boy that lived with me, notebook, 2 collection knifes, my telephones, lease documents and a voice recorder. They also flipped few bullets, supposedly 5.45 calibers.

After this quick “search” I was told that I’d be taken to the the Regional Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry, brought outside and put in a car with the Special Forces. But then we came to the yard of supposedly disembodied Directorate for Combating Organized Crime on Osipova. They kept me there for about 2 hours, finally allowing my lawyer to come in. At that time I was acquainted with the materials of the fabricated cases. All the investigative actions were done in only one day, and the only evidence is the testimony of the "victim" Scherbich. Then I have learned that there is a sanction for my arrest, so now I would be taken to the Primorsky court. They wore a bandage on my eyes and began to show me across the Uspenska street as by that time people who came to support me were already near the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. I was put into a car and even had a bag on my head.

I was brought to the Primorsky court where I spent 3 hours. After the judge with the last name Kryklyviy announced his decisions I was taken to the detention center where I spent 4 days.

Detention center

I was mentally ready to the fact that I can just be stolen and taken out somewhere, and to attempts of murder, and that they can throw me in jail. So I accepted the whole situation without fuss both during the detention process and while staying in detention center. There were Special Forces under my door around the clock, they accompanied me every time I left the chamber, whether it was a shower or a "walk." Total control and limitation. Attempts to put psychological pressure on me didn’t have much success. There were conditions in which you can easily catch tuberculosis and there was prison food avoided even by cockroaches. Thanks to my comrades I received some food and clothes, and most importantly - books. Information isolation is the most difficult issue when you are cut off from the world and do not know what is happening there, under a blue sky without a prison lattice. My days passed quietly there, and I was finally able to get some good sleep. When they released me, I was really surprised by all the events that took place during my detention.

However support and consolidation in order to pull me and other detainees out played an important role in our liberation from the clutches of the regime. Hired lawyers can be great professionals, but people were the chief lawyer here. So prominent role belongs to you, friends. Not the state, not the Court of Appeal, not the lawyers, but you pulled me out. Together we will win! I would like to thank you all one more time.

The analysis and conclusions.

  1. According to the insider information, the situation played out with the help of Presman and Co., so it was launched by those who surround Saakashvili. It was aimed at several things: Trying to get some political points for Saaaashvili from citizens who have anti-Ukrainian position, there are lots of them. But this main purpose failed miserably.
  2. To remove "unwanted" patriots that prevent pretending that everything is super by pointing at the problems in citizens’ lives. The government doesn’t fight these problems, but rather helps creating them.
  3. Demonstration of force, testing reaction and mood of citizens.

The repressive system of Poroshenko-Avakov has once again shown its face. I do not know which genius advised the authorities to arrest three activists at the same time, but near the court situation was close to explosion. The possibility of a serious uprising scared the government enough to release us. In fact, this is a unique precedent on the release of political prisoners so quickly. The system was scared.

At the same time it is clear that the overall degree of confidence in society becomes higher every day, and now even the smallest thing can become a reason of strong explosion of peoples’ anger. It can happen at any time.

And finally.

I have litigation ahead of me. I hope for your support. And it should be considered that preventive measure may be changed any time. So let’s not relax. Let’s fight on.

In addition, the court still has something to deal with.

We will show them junta.
